The Love Metal Bible is now online!
After a week of intensive work, in which I sort of abandoned this blog, my HIM fansite is ready to go. The site is at this moment in beta form, but you can get the picture of what I was after.
The Love Metal Bible opened up with full discography from the band including every release from the demo to the newest single and the different versions around the world. I tried to include as much complete information as possible.
Each album also includes the accompanying music videos in almost all of the versions and in the best possible quality. Given that not everybody has QuickTime but almost everyone has Flash, I’ve decided to use the flash video format for easier and faster access. I’ll plan to include embed codes for your blog or website soon.
Even after I spent a whole week and an entire night finishing the look and basic content there’s still a lot of work to do. The Love Metal Bible will also include a big photo gallery from each period in HIM’s story, lyrics for every song, biographies from the bands members, special articles, fan art and of course the latest news.
But it wouldn’t be a Love Metal Bible without talking about other bands inspired by HIM such as Lovex, Lacrimas Profundere, Icon & The Black Roses, Embellish, etc. These bands will have coverage in the site aswell.
Keep also in mind the design is no definitive. I tried to get a look that could look both victorian gothic but simple and not over stuffed to leave the content as the real star. But there are some fixes I’ll like to do and you’re most welcomed to make suggestions. The navigation needs also be improved.
Making the site in Wordpress was a little tough, (maybe I should have used Joomla instead?) but rewarding. I’d learned a lot about organizing content in a different way than a blog with Wordpress, and that’s pretty cool to me.
Among other plans for The Love Metal Bible is making it bilingual just like this blog, but before that I need to see a real interest among the visitors. Making one blog in two languages is though enough for me, and all the more considering I’m about to start work on yet another website, the long promised Moviefy which I hope will be ready before Alice in Wonderland hits theaters.
I hope you enjoy this new project and give it your support. This is gonna be fun.
